Hyundai is rolling out significant upgrades for the 2025 Ioniq 5, including a rugged new XRT trim level, improved driving range, and compatibility with Tesla’s Supercharger network. The new XRT trim, exclusive to the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model, features off-road-inspired design elements like 18-inch wheels, black exterior trim, and a raised suspension for better approach and departure angles. While not a full-fledged off-roader, the XRT trim offers more capability for light off-road adventures compared to the standard Ioniq 5.
The 2025 Ioniq 5 lineup also sees enhancements across all variants, including redesigned bumpers, a new rear spoiler, and updated interior features like a redesigned center console and standard heated rear seats on select trims. The 12.3-inch touchscreen now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and can receive over-the-air software updates, ensuring your Ioniq 5 stays current with the latest features.
Battery capacity has been boosted, with the Standard Range increasing to 63 kWh and the Long Range to 84 kWh. Depending on the configuration, the all-wheel-drive models offer a driving range of 250 to 280 miles per charge, while rear-wheel-drive models reach up to 310 miles.
One of the most notable updates is the 2025 Ioniq 5’s compatibility with Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), providing access to over 17,000 Supercharger stations across North America. This feature will be standard on all new or refreshed Hyundai EVs starting in late 2024.
Assembled in Georgia, the 2025 Ioniq 5 is set to hit U.S. dealerships in the fall of 2024, with the potential to qualify for a $3,750 tax credit. Leased models will continue to be eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit.
